Fall 2023 Updates
Hope life is treating you well, where ever you may be. Here on the Front Range of Colorado the leaves are changing color and the temps are dropping! I enjoyed a great summer guiding rock and alpine climbing around Boulder and Rocky Mountain National Park. A big thanks to everyone I climbed with out here!
In mid September I drove out to Washington state where I did a short stint guiding, and then took the AMGA Alpine Guide Exam. It was a tough 9 days of examination but I passed and am proud to say that I am now a certified alpine guide.

While out in the PNW I also attended the International Snow Science Workshop (ISSW 2023). The ISSW is a biennial meeting of the top snow and avalanche professionals from around the world, including ski patrollers, public avalanche forecasters, Highway avalanche forecasters, ski guides, and researchers. It is a inspiring and fantastic community to be a part of.
I’m back in Boulder, CO now, and the weather is perfect for rock climbing!
Get in touch if you’re interested in getting out on some classic rock climbs, or want to brush up on skills. Now is a great time to learn rock rescue techniques or learn to lead trad climbs.
Late Nov/early Dec is also a great time for some ice and mixed climbing in Rocky Mountain National Park. It’s the perfect place to train for alpine objectives in the Alaska Range or in the Alps.
Looking forward, I’ll be in Boulder until Late December when I’ll be headed out to Utah to work the winter season as a cat skiing guide at Monument Ranch. Located in the Northern Wasatch, Monument was voted the best cat skiing operation 2022/23’ by Mens Journal.
