Winter 24/25’ Updates
Hello again,
Greetings from the Bear River Range, Utah. Hope everyone is finding a way to get outside and move a bit in these cold snowy months.
This winter has been characterized by stability and instability; stable atmosphere, unstable atmosphere; stable snow, unstable snow; good skiing, bad skiing. Such if the life chasing cold powder snow.
Late Nov/Early December I had an awesome time skiing around in Ecuador with a couple good friends. We skied Cayambe, attempted Antisana, and Chimborazo. Look for dates for guided trip in my summer update email!
Mid-December I spent some time skiing and ice climbing in the San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado. They had received great early season snow and the early season ice was in better condition than it had been in years!
After Christmas we were able to start full time operations at Monument, where I’ve been busy 5 days a week guiding a mix of snowcats and helicopters and preforming snow safety duties. It’s hard to beat mid-winter powder skiing in Utah.
Looking forward I’m headed to Chamonix after the season at Monument wraps up at the end of March. I’ll be there for the whole month of April doing a mix of guiding and personal skiing.
I’ve got 2 more spots available on a Haute Route trip April 9th-15th. The Haute Route is one of the most classic multi-day ski tours in the Alps. Over 7 days you tour from hut to hut from Chamonix to Zermatt Switzerland. Get in touch if you are interested, know anyone who might be interested, or just want more information.
More availability:
-April 4-8th for ski tours off the Aiguille du Midi, Chamonix. Vallée Blanche and other tours available.
-May 9th-22nd availability in Washington or Eastern Sierra for Ski Mountaineering.
-July and August. Available for climbing in the Tetons. Will be working for Exum this summer.
Thanks for tuning in, look forward to hearing from folks!
